And I watched her heart break....
A cavity expanding in her chest,
A pain so ripe and yet so antediluvian,
Primitive fear hurt and sorrow.
Bouncing against her ribs with
Beat after beat; her weary heart,
Fights against her when all she wants is for it to stop.
be still, motionless, like his.
He is gone, her love, her heart.
He has left her as he swore he never would.
His body growing colder with every passing minute, each tick of the clock.
As her hand holds steadfast to his;
As if to keep him here, but it is too late.
At last, she raises her gaze, her eyes red rimmed and bloodshot.
And I watched her heart break....
