Twilight falls so early now.
Trees take on a shadowy cloak
As all is lit in lilacs and mauve tinged in grey.
The boughs twist and bow as the wind rips at the leaves that are fading on tired branches.
Dead and dying from the polished greens of Spring and Summer
First to radiant red and yellow gold
And now to the festering brown of decay, crunching under my feet.
The grey washed clouds race past, no sun shines, no moon has yet come.
The air is cool not yet cold, fresh and breezy.
I breath it deep to clear my mind,
Soothe my skull that pulses and aches and it is calmed a moment.
My weariness with every day pains and worries is washed away
Taken by the air, for a moment.
A moment was all I needed.
