Silent Mind

Scream so loud
In silent mind.
Words like daggers
Wound the weakened soul.
It tries to twist and escape.
Soar and dance away from pain
Dragged by a cold clammy hand
And screams so loud
In silent mind
A distant shore
Calls to me
Waves wash over
Cleanse the aching
Ease the throbbing
Screams so loud
In silent mind
So soft and fragile
Yet strong.
In quiet contemplations
Of days gone by
The screams grow louder
Ever more vociferous
Yet silence will over come
The screams so loud
In silent mind.
And suddenly there is nothing.
All is still and quiet.
The screams abated
Almost missed.
